Experience Where It Counts

Jason Franklin is board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization He is a member of The College of the State Bar of Texas, a life-member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, and has been repeatedly named to the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers and Texas Super Lawyers Rising Stars. In addition, Jason currently sits as the Vice President of the Dallas Trial Lawyers Association and on the Board of Directors of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association.

Education with Honors

Jason graduated from Arizona State University Summa Cum Laude with a 4.0 GPA, receiving his Bachelor of Science degree in political science. He then obtained his Juris Doctor Law Degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law with several honors, including induction into SMU’s Barristers, as well as the National Order of Barristers. He received the Excellence in Advocacy Award for his participation on numerous Mock Trial and Moot Court teams. In addition, he served on the Computer Law Review and Technology Journal and served as Vice President of the Board of Advocates.

Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization

Only approximately 2% of Texas attorneys are board certified in Personal Injury Trial Law. Lawyers certified in personal injury trial law are considered specialists in the field of Personal Injury. Those attorneys not board certified cannot claim to be specialists in the field.

College of the State Bar of Texas

The College of the State Bar of Texas is an honorary society of lawyers who are among the best trained attorneys in Texas. Members are qualified attorneys who are interested in both high ethical standards and improved training for all Texas attorneys. The College recognizes Texas lawyers who attend at least double the Continuing Legal Education (CLE) required by the State Bar of Texas.

The National Trial Lawyers – Top 100 Trial Lawyers

The National Trial Lawyers – Top 100 Trial Lawyers is an invitation-only national organization composed of America’s Top Trial Lawyers. Membership is extended solely to the select few of the most qualified attorneys from each state who exemplify superior qualifications of leadership, reputation, influence, stature, and profile as civil plaintiff or criminal defense trial lawyers. Jason Franklin has been a member since 2013.

Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum – Life Member

The Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum is one of the most prestigious groups of trial lawyers in the United States. Membership is limited to attorneys who have won multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements. Fewer than 1% of U.S. lawyers are members.

Texas Super Lawyers – Rising Starts

The Selection to Super Lawyers Rising Stars is made by Super Lawyers, a publication of Thomson Reuters. Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The selection process is multi-phased and includes independent research, peer nominations, and peer evaluations. Rising Stars recognizes the top up-and-coming attorneys in the state – those who are 40 years old or younger or who have been practicing for 10 years or less. Only 2.5% of Texas attorneys are chosen for this honor in any given year. Jason Franklin has been selected for this honor on four separate occasions: 2008, 2010, 2011, and 2012.

Lauren Jobin, Attorney

Lauren Jobin was born in Aberdeen, Scotland, and grew up traveling internationally throughout Southeast Asia and Australia, attending the majority of her schooling overseas. Lauren received a Bachelor of Arts from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where she majored in International Studies with a minor in Philosophy. Following graduation from Southern Methodist University, Lauren attended law school at St. Mary’s School of Law in San Antonio, TX. While at St. Mary’s, Lauren was a member of the external advocacy mock trial program and interned with the Bexar County District Attorney’s Office throughout her 2L and 3L years. After receiving her Juris Doctorate, Lauren went on to receive admissions to both the Texas and Louisiana State Bars.

Cheryl Langston, Attorney of Counsel

Cheryl Langston is a Texas native, born in Greenville, Texas. Cheryl is a single mom with a beautiful eight-year-old little girl. Cheryl attended the University of Texas at Arlington, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology before going on to attend Texas Wesleyan School of Law. While in law school, Cheryl became a legal intern for Region Six, Office of General Counsel for the Social Security Administration. After being licensed by the State Bar of Texas in 1998, Cheryl remained with the Social Security Administration as an Assistant Regional Counsel until 2007. As an attorney for the Social Security Administration’s Office of the General Counsel, Cheryl represented the Agency in disability cases at the Federal District Court and Court of Appeal levels. In this capacity, Cheryl became extremely familiar with Social Security disability law as it applies to a large variety of factual situations. Cheryl also represented the Agency in employment law cases and provided legal opinions regarding difficult fact situations within the Agency. In this job, Cheryl received numerous awards for her outstanding service with the Agency. In 2007, Cheryl left the Agency and opened her own law office representing Plaintiffs in their Social Security disability appeals before the Federal District Courts, as well as at the administrative level. Cheryl now uses her knowledge and experience to fight for the rights of disabled claimants.

David Goss, Office Manager

David joined the firm as our Office Manager with an impressive 15 years in Healthcare Management. His experience includes human resources, payroll, account receivables, benefits, training and development, purchasing, and customer service. He enjoys working as a team and believes in keeping a positive attitude as an example throughout his everyday work in both style and demeanor. David oversees the daily operations while working closely with various vendors, marketing representatives, and our clients. With his energetic and positive personality – along with his hard work ethic – he is a welcomed asset to our firm.

Bianca Palacios, Case Manager

As Case Manager, Bianca is one of the first people you will meet at our firm. She spends time with each new client getting to know them and begins the process of working on their case in the Pre-Lit Department. During this time, she understands that many questions may arise, and she is prepared to answer each one. Bianca Palacios graduated from the Academy of Irving in 2006 after studying in the legal field and is fluent in Spanish. She has been with our firm since 2007 and is a huge asset to our firm. With her friendly demeanor and tremendous work ethic, our clients develop a trusting bond with her and confidently continue to use our firm and refer their friends and family to our care.

Stephanie Smith, Paralegal

Stephanie graduated from The University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice. She supports all attorneys and works very hard to provide them with the information and support they need in a timely manner. Every day she works closely with the clients, vendors, hospitals, translators, court reporters, and the courthouse and is available to answer any questions about the litigation process. Her other duties include determining liens and reductions on medical invoices and gathering all information about the case for review. Anytime a case goes to the litigation department, Stephanie is involved and continues to help the clients with any questions they have during this time. Stephanie is very professional and detailed, and it shows in her work.

Nancy Murillo, Receptionist

Nancy has a strong background in customer service and has worked as a receptionist for several large organizations. She is an important part of daily operations, and she is the first contact with every caller into the firm. Whether you come visit the office or call us, you will always be greeted with her friendly and positive energy. She helps with the calls in both English and Spanish as well as runs reports, scans, updates our database, and helps with any project as needed.

Nancy lives in Dallas and enjoys spending time with her family and friends outside of work. She believes that her children keep her focused and help her see that each person has value. She brings these personal beliefs to work and looks forward to talking with you.

Samantha Ruiz, File Clerk

Samantha was born and raised in Dallas, Texas, and graduated from West Mesquite High School. She attended El Centro Community College and is currently studying music education. Samantha is such a great fit to this office because she likes things very organized and neat. You cannot ask for better quality when working with client files. She enjoys interacting with the staff, is always in a pleasant mood, and is very easy to work with. She works directly with each department and helps the receptionist as needed. Clients enjoy talking to her, and she makes them feel at home. You could find her in any room of our office always wanting to help out.
